This volume of Journeys in Triple Time invites early intermediate pianists on six musical journeys, each inspired by a place — some real, some imagined. Every piece is written in three-four time, with a variety of characters and moods.
Pieces Included:
Misbehaving Monkeys — a playful and energetic musical romp.
Firefly Garden — a shimmering nighttime journey through a garden filled with glowing fireflies.
Adventure on a Mountain Ridge — a dramatic musical exploration inspired by the grandeur of the mountains.
Daydreaming on a Moonbeam — a dreamy journey into a world of imagination.
Flight of the Monarchs — a graceful musical flight inspired by the remarkable journey of the monarch butterfly.
Turtle Fountain — inspired by the beautiful Turtle Fountain in Italy.
The six bonus pages, one for each piece, take the musical journey beyond the piano. Students may discover interesting facts about the inspiration behind the piece, practice excerpts drawn from the music, links to YouTube videos for further exploration, or supporting music theory activities.
With 19 pages of music plus 6 bonus pages, Journeys in Triple Time combines musical storytelling, imagination, exploration, and skill-building in a collection designed specifically for early-intermediate pianists.
